Hanging instructions Felt
Properties
This FELT wallcovering is a durable product with a soft, warm appearance. Our partner, i-did, makes it from recycled textiles, such as old workwear and military uniforms. Slight variations in colour and texture are characteristics that contribute to the product’s unique appearance.
Preparation:
Check
Upon receipt of the goods, always check first:
- Whether the correct item and colour has been received.
- For any colour deviations, damage or other technical imperfections.
Colour grading
To achieve an even colour and texture gradient on the wall, arrange the panels according to colour and texture after cutting them to size.
Surface
The surface must be:
- Flat and even in colour.
- Solid, dry, dust-free and grease-free.
For absorbent walls, we recommend treating the wall with a primer first to ensure good adhesion. Remove dark spots to prevent show-through.
Application:
Use a durable, water-based adhesive for Felt wallcoverings. Recommended adhesive: a good quality wallpaper adhesive designed for non-woven wallpaper. Important: always follow the adhesive supplier‘s instructions.
Adhesive
Apply the adhesive evenly to the wall with a paint roller.
Applying the wallpaper
Carefully press a strip of felt onto the glued wall and smooth it out with your hands. Make sure that no glue gets on the front. Then stick the strips side by side without overlapping them and press the seams carefully to ensure they fit together properly. Finally, cut off any excess felt at the skirting boards and ceiling using a sharp utility knife.
Removal
If processed with the appropriate adhesive, the felt can be easily removed and separated for recycling. Some lint may remain on the wall. These residues can be removed by moistening the wall with a sponge and then scraping it off with a spatula.
