Felt

Wednesday, December 17, 2025

When we talk about sustainability and inclusion, i-did is one of those rare organizations that doesn’t just talk the talk—they live it in every fiber of their work. As a partner, we've had the privilege of seeing up close how they combine environmental responsibility with meaningful social impact.

i-did gives a second life not only to textiles, but also to people. In their factory—the only one in Europe that controls the full process of textile-to-felt production under one roof—they transform discarded consumer and company clothing into high-quality felt. But the real story lies in how they do it.

They work with people who have been out of work for a long time, supporting them in building the confidence and skills to actively participate in society again. Through coaching, structure, and meaningful work, i-did helps them take steps toward long-term employment. It’s incredibly effective: about 80% of the participants move on to jobs outside i-did. You can feel their pride in being part of something bigger.

What sets i-did apart is their ability to bridge commercial needs with real-world change. The felt used in this collection is made from, among others, the former uniforms of a major Dutch airline and the military. In addition, carefully sorted post-consumer textiles are blended to create beautiful and unique felt colours. The result: reduced environmental impact and increased social value.

Every year i-did recycles tons of kilos of textile, and the amounts are growing. Doing so, i-did saves at least 90 million litres of water each year—water that is donated to clean water projects through Made Blue.

We’re proud to collaborate with i-did and to bring their story, and their materials, to a wider audience.

Make impact together.
